DDS Online, Inc.

Mission Statement:

DDS Online is a provider of high quality, timely continuing education lectures and instruction materials for the dental professional. Seminars, courses and media are planned to provide current information on diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment therapies that increase the practitioner's awareness of new modalities, techniques and procedures. Vigilant attention to the needs of the patient population is the primary force employed in structuring advanced dental health education programs that are both informative and relevant.

Goals:

The educational goals of DDS Online are to identify prevalent dental related disease entities within the patient population (the public) such as edentululism, periodontal disease and developmental malformations and correlate these dental needs to the demand for treatment. After identifying these needs and demands of the patient population, educational programs can be developed to strengthen the overall diagnostic and therapeutic armamentarium of the practitioner. DDS Online must stay abreast of current dental therapies and understand the scope of today's dental care in order to develop courses and educational materials which will support the needs of dentists in providing state of art dental therapies and treatment for their patients. DDS Online will continuously seek out techniques and modalities that are important in treating dental disease and provide classical as well as innovative methodology for conveying these techniques and modalities to the profession.

Therefore the primary goals necessary to developing educational programs are:

1. Identify prevalent dental related disease entities in today's dental population.

2. Identify and quantitate the dental needs of today's dental patient and correlate that to current demands for dental treatment.

3. Identify areas where dental practitioners are weak or inefficient in meeting the needs and demands of the patient population.

4. Seek out course material which is currently necessary in meeting the above demands and needs and also timely and interesting to the dental profession as a whole.

DDS Online will develop courses in an innovative and exciting manner to meet the stated goals. The health needs of the public will be of the utmost importance in planning and providing educational programs through DDS Online.

Policy for Reevaluation of Goals & Educational Objectives:

DDS Online is committed to maintaining a current and influential position in dental education. In order to do this, our educational goals must constantly be updated to conform with current needs in the profession and the health requirements of the patients we serve. To do this, DDS Online will require that the Board of Directors meet at least 6 times a year to discuss and reevaluate educational goals. Input information for this will be garnered from educational participation by Board members in various national, local and international dental meetings. Each Board member will be required to attend at least 25 hours of continuing education in both specialty and general dental meetings. Authors/Instructors, attendees and website visitors will constantly be polled for their input as to trends and meaningful goals in dental Continuing Education.

Each time DDS Online presents an educational program, there will be a reassessment meeting of available Board Members to determine if our educational goals were met. Audience response and current trends will be reconsidered to determine if there should be any adjustment or refinements. With respect to the online courses, Dr. Davidoff and the other Board members will continuously attempt to identify trends and techniques in online dental education that will help to improve the educational content of dds-online. We will also make use of e-mail and on-line discussion groups as a source of relevant information from those individuals who provide and take courses.
